Advertising consultant Kristian Dixon joined the Alexandria Times staff last week, becoming the latest addition to the community newspaper’s team.

Dixon, a life-long resident of Northern Virginia, currently lives in Old Town but has lived in Del Ray and Arlington since moving to the area from Prince William County in 1992. Since then, she has been ingrained in the community, grossing 13 years of sales experience with the Alexandria Gazette Packet before devoting her time to Why The Rooster Crows, her Del Ray home furnishings store.

“I love the Alexandria community,” Dixon said. “Everyone’s friendly and even though it’s kind of a big city, it has a small town feel.”

The Marymount University graduate has won numerous distinctions for her advertising efforts — including design awards — from the Virginia Press Association and has a degree in business.
Dixon, a self-proclaimed horseback rider, golfer and “soccer mom,” has a 10-year old son.
