GW Parade

The George Washington Parade The nation’s largest George Washington Birthday parade made its way through Old Town Monday, with nearly 3,500 participants paying tribute to one of the city’s most beloved sons on a cold and blustery day. The First Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line, above, stopped to fire along the parade route, staging a convincing battle scene for the crowd, while Preston Pierce, right, with the American Legion Dorie Miller Post of Arlington, covered his ears to keep warm before the start of the festivities.
